SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to manage all aspects of internal and external investigations, including but not limited to ensuring interview and report writing standards are maintained. Oversee theft related perpetual inventory data and ensure department resources are scheduled accordingly. Build awareness within stores by sharing perpetual inventory item theft information and processes to report and deter shoplifting events. Work to identify theft rings and other theft activity taking place in assigned area. Manage and oversee Asset Protection Managers, physical security and asset protection technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, train and develop a team of Asset Protection Managers
- Oversight of all internal and external investigations in assigned region
- Create and build partnerships with Zone Director and Center Store /Fresh Merchandise Specialists. Work with these partners to increase theft awareness.
- Oversight of case management system to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Collaborate and assist AP Shrink Specialists with internal shrink related investigations as directed by Regional AP Manager
- Ensure CCTV and other AP systems are functional, properly used, and maintained per department standards
- Develop and manage relationships with service providers, vendors and guard agencies to ensure services are maintained at an acceptable level. Ensure the accuracy of invoices submitted by vendors.
- Company liaison with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement and Court Officials
- Ensure appropriate response to critical incidents
- Work with Asset Protection Analytics team to identify theft trends
- Responsible to manage and assign cases distributed by the AP Analytics team
- Work with Construction and Operations to ensure AP technology and security coverage is provided for new and remodeled stores
- Drive results through use of scorecard metrics
- Responsible for coordinating major investigations involving areas such as fraud cases, dishonest teammates, other sensitive as assigned by AP Regional Manager
- Responsible to implement training programs to store management and AP managers to increase ORC awareness
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years Asset Protection or Operations lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Satisfactory performance reviews
- Demonstrate strong communication skills both verbal and written
- General knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel computer programs
- General understanding of the center store PI or Fresh inventory process
- Must have a valid driver’s license and regular travel required
- Must be 21 years of age
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work on sensitive assignments and handle confidential information appropriately
- Wicklander Interview Certification preferred
- CFI Certification preferred
- General understanding of Penal Law(s) and General Business Codes
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree/study preferred
- High School/GED degree mandatory
- 3 years Asset Protection or Operations lead or supervisory experience preferred
