SUMMARY

The Creative Communications Lead develops, writes, and designs enterprise-wide communications that strengthen how Market 32, Price Chopper, Tops Markets, Northeast Shared Services (NSS), and Northeast Grocery, Inc. (NGI) connect with teammates and associates, customers, and communities. This hands-on role blends content creation, writing, and design to produce clear, engaging, and visually consistent communications across internal and external channels.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and skilled visual storyteller who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment — equally comfortable drafting internal messages, designing supporting visuals, and shaping content that both inform and inspire, while reflecting the company’s values and voice.

Purpose of the Role

This position plays a key role in strengthening and standardizing internal communications across the enterprise while maintaining the distinct look, feel, and voice of each brand — Market 32, Price Chopper, Tops Markets, NSS, and NGI.

Working under the Director of Communications, the Creative Communications Lead creates compelling written and visual content that ensures communications across all entities are consistent in quality and delivery, yet reflective of each brand’s individual identity. Through thoughtful storytelling, design, and coordination, this role enhances teammate and associate engagement and alignment while also supporting select external communications, media, and community relations efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Communications, Writing & Content Creation
•    Write, edit, and design internal communications including newsletters, enterprise-wide announcements, teammate stories, executive messages, and event materials.
•    Develop creative concepts, layouts, and supporting visuals that strengthen storytelling and engagement across the organization.
•    Collaborate with the Senior Communications Specialist to develop and distribute internal communications content that promotes alignment and connection across operating companies and shared services.
•    Maintain consistent quality, tone, and professionalism across internal channels while ensuring brand-specific communications retain their unique style and identity.
•    Plan and manage internal communications calendars, content workflows, and creative asset organization for NSS, NGI, Market 32, Price Chopper, and Tops Markets.

Design, Multimedia & Visual Storytelling
•    Create graphics, layouts, and templates for internal, community, and corporate communications using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Canva.
•    Capture and edit photography and short-form video to support internal storytelling and leadership messages.
•    Design and support the development of internal presentation materials — including decks for leadership conferences, town halls, enterprise updates, and other corporate events — utilizing existing brand templates and visual standards.
•    Design digital signage, campaign graphics, and creative assets for internal initiatives.
•    Ensure all communications meet brand guidelines and quality standards for each entity across print, digital, and multimedia formats.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Partner closely with the Directors of Community Relations and Communications for Market 32/Price Chopper and Tops Markets to ensure message consistency and creative excellence across all brands and business areas.
•    Coordinate with Marketing’s creative team to maintain alignment in visual standards and share creative best practices.
•    Engage with NSS and NGI business leaders to gather content and ensure internal messages are accurate, timely, and aligned with company priorities.

External Communications Support (as needed)
•    Assist with drafting, editing, and formatting press releases, social media copy, and other external communications materials.
•    Provide creative design and asset support for community events, press activations, and public relations initiatives.
•    Collaborate with digital and social media teams to provide approved content and visual assets for online and social channels.
•    Contribute to enterprise storytelling efforts that strengthen brand reputation and public visibility across all operating companies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in communications, design, or related creative roles.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to adapt voice and tone for internal and brand-specific audiences.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
• Familiarity with photography, video capture, and basic editing techniques.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset and professionalism in working with leaders and cross-functional partners.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in internal or corporate communications within a large or multi-location organization.
Experience supporting communications for both corporate and community-facing initiatives.
