SUMMARY

Project P Holdings LLC (DBA Northeast Shared Services) seeks to hire an IT Lead Senior QA Engineer, in Schenectady, NY, whose primary responsibilities are software quality assurance tasks including verification and validation testing, regression analysis, test documentation, developing test methodology, and troubleshooting product software issues for multiple applications. This role is the QA lead for software quality assurance for company products.  Specifically, the IT Lead Senior QA Engineer will:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement software quality assurance standards, processes, and procedural controls.
  • Develop methods for software testing, sampling and training.
  • Develop documentation and procedures that support Engineering, Quality, Production and Service.
  • Lead the Qualification/Validation process for product development projects and coordinate the same with all the players involved in the testing process.
  • Develop and run tests for the purpose of testing/evaluating/debugging new product releases or PC applications (beta versions).
  • Make recommendations for the acquisition of evaluation/development tools and equipment to support the main responsibilities of this position.
  • Test and debug software/firmware applications and new product/software to meet scheduled release dates.
  • Develop testing schedules and processes to refine software/firmware application release process.
  • Execute tests scripts for unit testing and regression testing for maintenance/project releases.
  • Analyze manual test cases and functional specifications to determine best approach for automating scripts.
  • Analyze test results to report defects and issues found during test run.
  • Create manual test scenarios and perform manual functional testing as required.
  • Document scripts with comments to provide insight to test logic.
  • Provide estimates and status updates on automation scripts.
  • Develop and maintain a software/firmware application tracking system.
  • Manage, plan, schedule, and report software Quality Assurance objectives.
  • The area of responsibility includes staff and on-shore and off-shore contracting support.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • The position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field. The successful candidate must also have seven (7) years of software quality assurance experience in the retail industry, which includes seven (7) years of experience in the following: 
    • Designing and deploying software quality assurance processes, procedural controls, and standards;
    • Developing and implementing the NCR (retalix) applications for storeline and self-checkout applications;
    • Writing test scripts on NCR RESB, Loyalty, Front office and Point of Sale (POS) systems;
    • Automating the Point of Sale (POS) related test scripts by using HP UFT;
    • Working with Retail Software including NCR Storeline, NCR Point of Sale, and Optimal Robotics POS;
    • Working with ETL Tools, including SSIS and BODS 4.1; and
    • Working with Automation Tools, including HP UFT, Selenium and JMeter.
