Position Overview
The IT Manager, Enterprise Corporate Systems is responsible for the day-to-day delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of technology solutions supporting core corporate functions, including Human Resources, Risk Management, Facilities, Corporate Communications, Consumer Relations, and related business areas across Northeast Shared Services.
This role serves as the primary day-to-day IT contact for business stakeholders, building strong working relationships to ensure alignment between business needs and technology delivery. The position requires a hands-on leader who can operate at both a functional and technical level while actively contributing to solution design, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
Position Summary
The IT Manager leads a portfolio of enterprise corporate systems supporting multiple operating companies, including Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Markets. This role oversees a blended delivery model consisting of internal team members, near-shore and off-shore resources, and third-party partners. This role is responsible for engaging with stakeholders, executing against established technology priorities, ensuring reliable system performance, and delivering enhancements and projects aligned to business needs. The position also contributes to the development of application roadmaps and continuous improvement efforts across supported systems. Success in this role requires strong operational leadership, hands-on technical engagement, and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders to prioritize effectively and deliver measurable outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Partnership
• Serve as the primary day-to-day IT contact for assigned corporate functions, building strong working relationships with business stakeholders.
• Ensure clear communication of priorities, progress, risks, and issues across both IT and business teams.
• Partner with business stakeholders and IT leadership to support alignment between business needs and technology delivery.
Technology and Process Management
• Lead the configuration, support, and enhancement of enterprise corporate systems, including SAP SuccessFactors and ServiceChannel.
• Ensure systems meet performance, security, and compliance requirements in partnership with Information Security and other IT teams.
• Identify and remediate risks associated with legacy systems, prioritizing improvements that enhance reliability and reduce operational exposure.
• Establish and maintain standards for system configuration, integration, and support processes.
Project Delivery
• Lead execution of projects and enhancements across corporate systems, ensuring alignment to defined priorities and effective use of resources.
• Partner with IT leadership and project governance processes to support intake, prioritization, and delivery of work.
• Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
• Ensure coordination across initiatives through consistent delivery practices and communication.
Data and Integration
• Support integration points across corporate systems and enterprise platforms, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
• Partner with stakeholders to enhance reporting capabilities, data analytics, and business intelligence.
• Contribute to efforts to improve data governance and consistency across systems.
Operational Excellence
• Manage annual budgets, forecasts, and resource plans for supported systems within approved guidelines.
• Oversee vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring partners meet service levels and delivery expectations.
• Lead and develop a team of approximately 10 resources, including on-shore, near-shore, and off-shore team members, as well as third-party partners.
• Drive accountability across the team and partners to meet service levels, project commitments, and operational goals.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends to support practical, business-aligned improvements.
• Ensure compliance with corporate IT security, audit, and operational standards.
Strategy and Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the development and execution of application roadmaps, balancing system stability, risk mitigation, and targeted enhancements.
• Provide input into strategic direction based on system knowledge, operational experience, and business needs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, user experience, and delivery effectiveness.
• Apply emerging technologies, including generative AI, to streamline support processes, enhance knowledge management, and improve system delivery outcomes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience supporting corporate functions such as Human Resources, Risk Management, Facilities, or similar domains.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams across on-shore, near-shore, and off-shore delivery models.
• Experience managing SaaS-based platforms and vendor-supported applications.
• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors strongly preferred.
• Experience with ServiceChannel or similar facilities/work order management platforms is a plus.
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience operating in a multi-entity or multi-operating company environment preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) and ability to apply them to improve productivity, documentation, analysis, and solution design across IT and business workflows.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Codex, or similar) and interest in leveraging them to accelerate troubleshooting, scripting, and system integration tasks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with business and IT stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions.
• Strong understanding of HR systems and processes, including employee lifecycle, payroll integration, and workforce management.
• Experience working in environments with unionized workforces and complex labor models.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a hands-on leadership capacity, balancing technical engagement with team leadership.
• Proven success stabilizing and optimizing existing systems while introducing targeted improvements.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and execution
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
• 6–8 years of enterprise IT experience, with 2–4 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
