Ever wonder how grocery stores decide where products go or how store layouts influence what shoppers buy? As a Merchandising Services Intern, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how retail strategy comes to life. Working with our merchandising team, you’ll help improve planogram accuracy, support store layout updates, and contribute to tools that make future remodels faster and more consistent. This role offers real project experience and exposure to the systems, data, and decisions that shape the shopping experience across our stores.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to: Perishables planogram work package (review, update, and assignment workflow for a defined set of planograms).
• Contribute to: Store floor plan library update (review/QA and refresh PC/M32 floor plans; document change log).
• Contribute to: Remodel template toolkit for PC/M32 and Tops (standard template + instructions for future remodels).
• Support as needed: Support new-system implementation prep by standardizing inputs and documenting current-state processes.

You Will Learn: 

• How planograms and store layouts drive sales, shopper flow, and operational execution.
• How merchandising services supports online ordering accuracy (e.g., third-party platforms) through planogram integrity.
• How standardized templates improve speed and consistency across remodel work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Academic background: Business Management, Supply Chain or MIS
• Currently enrolled in Business Management, Supply Chain, MIS, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with templates and data.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet weekly milestones.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest in in-store merchandising and layout science.
• Experience working with retail data, planograms, or process documentation (a plus).
• Self-starter
