SUMMARY
The Specialty Services Pharmacist (part-time) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of specialty pharmacy professional services while ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant patient care.
In this role, you will verify specialty medication referrals, provide expert medication counseling, collaborate with healthcare providers, and serve as a trusted resource for patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. You will also support the ongoing development of specialty pharmacy programs and patient therapy initiatives while maintaining strong relationships with industry partners.

Schedule: Monday – Friday
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of the specialty pharmacy program.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Manage workflow and supervise specialty pharmacy support staff.
- Participate in business development efforts with specialty pharmacy partners and healthcare providers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prescribers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, payers, and healthcare systems.
- Verify the appropriate dispensing of specialty medications.
- Counsel patients and healthcare providers on:
- Medication usage
- Dosage instructions
- Drug interactions
- Potential side effects
- Monitor patient progress to promote medication adherence and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Assist with reporting and documentation required by specialty pharmacy contracts and industry partners.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and business partners.
- Participate in scheduled on-call coverage for urgent after-hours specialty pharmacy needs.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety.
- Exercise professional judgment while practicing within the scope of pharmacist licensure.
- Complete all required continuing education and maintain active licensure.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company pharmacy regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pharmacy (5-year program)
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing within the state of practice
