SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, the Workers’ Compensation Clerk performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks related to the review and processing of workers’ compensation claims. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to providing courteous service to associates and external partners. The position also requires strict adherence to confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of claim-related information.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform data entry and word processing related to workers’ compensation claims.

  • Prepare form letters and required state agency reporting documents.

  • Monitor diary systems and retrieve claim file folders as needed.

  • Maintain records and prepare reports, which may include complex documentation.

  • Reconcile wage payment calculations and review medical service bills for accuracy using applicable fee schedules and UCR tables.

  • Verify coverage and eligibility with Price Chopper Pharmacies, onsite medical facilities, and other external vendors.

  • Address routine inquiries and escalate more complex questions to appropriate staff members.

  • Enter payment authorization requests into the appropriate computer system.

  • Compile, post, and prepare required departmental reports.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of departmental procedures and corporate policies.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management and comply with all company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Consistently satisfactory job performance reviews.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • At least 1 year of related administrative or clerical experience preferred.
