Salary: $15.75- $23.50
SUMMARY
The Beer/Wine First Clerk needs to be informed and enthusiastic about beer/wine; they must be consumer friendly and be able to articulate their thoughts about the various products as well. They must be able to assist the consumer in their product selection and that the selection will meet the consumers needs and interests. Assists the Grocery Manager with overseeing the day to day operations of all alcoholic beverage merchandising. This is to be accomplished, in part though ensuring that policies and procedures regarding inventory management, merchandising, sanitation and training are followed. Complies and assists in maintaining all financial, ordering and inventory records and reports that pertain to the department. Inspects alcoholic beverage products to ensure that availability and quality (code dating) are maintained to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Provides a high level of customer service and courtesy at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for providing fast, friendly, efficient customer service al all times. Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customer upon fulfilling customer's request. Maintains a neat and clean work station at all times. Educate customers with alcoholic beverage related questions. Merchandise all alcoholic beverage products within all company guidelines and merchandising plans. Adhere to all Corporate, State and Federal rules and regulations. A basic knowledge of state alcoholic beverage regulations is necessary to ensure we are compliant with state regulations at all times Assists Grocery Manager in ordering and maintaining inventory levels of products utilizing the CGO system including proper cycle counting. Follows the weekly and monthly sales plans. Ensure customer satisfaction through product availability, quality, outstanding service and sanitary conditions. Maintain a full and well stocked sales area. Assist Grocery Manager with recording and maintaining all financial records and reports for the DSD invoices received and/or credited. Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times within the total store. Front end services may be required as business needs necessitate. Â Ensures that all company and state sanitation and pricing procedures and regulations are adhered to within grocery operations. Unloads warehouse merchandise from trucks. May be required to manage the store when necessary. Assists with the training and development of all new associates in grocery operations. Consistently works within company efficiency standards. Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures and cycle counts. Performs other related duties as assigned by management and adheres to all company policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
21 years or older. Basic Literacy skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
6 - 12 months related experience.
