Floater Produce Manager North Greenbush

SUMMARY

Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Manages the overall operation of the produce department to include budgeting and financial results, product ordering, human resource/training and inventory control measures. Oversees clerks within department and monitors for the proper merchandising, rotation and inventory levels of product to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Ensures that all produce associates maintain a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times. Ensures that all merchandising programs are executed completely, as per the merchandising department guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce Department Duties and Responsibilities

• Does not supervise associates on a regular basis.
• Consistently provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service at all times.
• Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers upon fulfilling their requests.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation at all times, following 5S standards.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Produce Department.
• Handle and merchandise all produce products according to company policy.
• Display and express complete product knowledge to customers.
• Achieve all budgeted financial figures for the Produce Department as outlined in the store profit plan.
• Merchandise produce products including:
  • Arrangements
  • Displays
  • Rotation
  • Inventory controls per merchandising department standards
• Order all merchandise and supplies for the Produce Department to meet company standards.
• Control inventory levels to meet company expectations.
• Consistently manage the department within company efficiency standards.
• Assume full responsibility for the Produce Department per company guidelines or at management’s discretion.
• Forecast and meet developmental staffing needs for future growth in the department.
• Manage the store as needed at the discretion of the Store Manager.
• Ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders and deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with all corporate and state sanitation and safety procedures and regulations.
• Train all new associates in produce operations.
• Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Satisfactory performance reviews. Strong communication skills. Basic computer skills. High School Degree or equivalent. 3+ years of related experience.
