This is a 10 week program and all opportunities are located on-site. 

Interested in how large-scale distribution operations run and improve? As a Distribution Operations Improvement Intern, you’ll work alongside distribution leaders to study processes, analyze operational data, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. From mapping workflows to developing improvement recommendations, you’ll gain hands-on experience solving real operational challenges in a high-volume distribution environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

• Support distribution operations improvement initiatives through process mapping, data analysis, and field observation.
• Partner with distribution leaders to select a priority project and define success measures.
• Conduct time studies or workflow analyses and summarize findings clearly.
• Develop practical recommendations that improve efficiency and/or reduce cost.

Deliverables: 

• Selected operations improvement project charter and current-state process map (project chosen in Week 1).
• Analysis package for the selected workstream (time study, workflow study, or process performance analysis).
• Recommendations and implementation roadmap (prioritized improvements, expected benefits, and next steps).

You will learn:

• How distribution operations work and how efficiency improvements are identified and implemented.
• How to run time studies, analyze workflows, and quantify impacts.
• How to communicate process improvement recommendations to operations stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a degree program related to: Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Math, Business.
• Full-time availability for the full 10-week program.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with structured deliverables (templates, documentation, analysis, or creative assets).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with teammates and incorporate feedback.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest in industrial engineering, operations, logistics, or continuous improvement.
• Comfort working in operational environments and communicating with frontline partners.
• Interest in professional development or workshop participation is a plus.
