SUMMARY

· Food Production Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of commercial food production equipment within the commissary.

· Ensures equipment is used in accordance with food safety, quality, and production standards; follows sanitation protocols; and contributes to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Operate a variety of commercial-grade food processing and packaging equipment (e.g., mixers, ovens, slicers, wrappers, kettles, fillers, sealers).

· Start-up, operate, and shut down equipment per manufacturer and company safety guidelines.

· Perform daily equipment checks; report malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to Maintenance or Supervisors.

· Follow food safety and quality procedures including proper handling, labeling, and tracking of products.

· Accurately complete production records and batch logs as required.

· Monitor production runs for accuracy, portioning, and consistency.

· Collaborate with Production and Sanitation to ensure changeovers and cleanups meet productivity and compliance standards.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization; comply with sanitation, GMP, and allergen control protocols.

· Support efforts to reduce waste, improve throughput, and meet production goals.

· Participate in safety training and adhere to PPE and lockout/tagout requirements.

· May assist with basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments if trained and authorized.

· Report any food safety, quality, or GMP concerns to Supervisors or FSQA immediately.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Commitment to workplace safety and product quality.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

· Strong attention to detail and consistency.

· Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Previous experience in food manufacturing or industrial equipment operation preferred.

· Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation.

· Ability to read and follow safety instructions, SOPs, and batch records.

· Food safety awareness and understanding of GMPs required.

Cleaning equipment and sanitation tools

Safety and PPE equipment (cut-resistant gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
