Ensures all tractors, reefers trailers, yardhorses, and other equipment is ready to be used by checking and adjusting fuel,engine oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid, tires, lights, as well as cleaning windshield and mirrors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fuels and inspects company equipment Inspect and adjust the following vital fluid levels while fueling Engine oil level Engine coolant level Windshield washer fluid Inspect while fueling and report noncompliance items to Leadman Tires Engine oil leaks Belts Perform walk around inspection, looking for any obvious faults While fueling perform these tasks Clean windshield Clean side windows Clean rear window Clean mirrors Check DVIR book. If any active Driver reports bring tractor to shop, notify Leadman. Otherwise parked completed unit in assigned location. Accurately enter information in fuel management system Ability to work outside all year round Ability to record various fuel tank, pump readings, and prepare document(s) Familiarity with NYS DEC and US EPA regulations with regard to operation of bulk storage facilities Meets company or industry time standards within job classification Ensure work is performed within company, and industry safety guidelines Adhere to all safety policies, procedures and best practices while performing tasks in a manner that promotes safety at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required. CDL Class A Permit Ability to obtain a Class A License within 12 months of hire Satisfactory performance reviews.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Familiarity with class 8 trucks Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
