SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this positions is to support the Meat and Seafood sales and profit growth through proper product selection and development, merchandising techniques and training/support of retail operations associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Develop and implement technical training programs. Assist the organization in determining training needs and assessing training opportunities. 

Manage all Meat product development and implementation for the assigned area. Also responsible for monitoring seafood sales plans, merchandising programs and special items upon visiting the stores.  

Provides Zone Directors with an accurate store breakdown of meat and seafood sales and margins on a quarterly basis.  Recommends solutions to sub par performances to Regional VP, Zone Directors and VP of Perishables Sales and Mdsg.

Set Meat and Seafood product specifications. Communicate these specifications to Regional Merchandisers and other operators. Ensure specifications are met at store level, identify issues and make appropriate recommendations to Operations management.

Assists Seafood department associates in areas including sales, margins, ordering, inventory levels, inventory shrink and labor scheduling.

Responsible for providing input relative to the design and layout of new stores and remodels.  Provides feedback through the proper channels on equipment for new stores and remodels.

Acts as a resource to the stores on sanitation conditions and/or inspections affecting the meat and seafood areas.  

Monitors and provides assistance in the training of meat and seafood managers and personnel on an as needed basis.  (ie: ordering, merchandising, paperwork, and inventory control)

Regularly inspect Meat and Seafood departments with Regional Merchandiser to identify inconsistencies and opportunities. Assist Regional Merchandisers in raising standards and improving performance.

Write priority lists for Model store preparation. Assist store in completing lists.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Valid drivers license. 
Satisfactory performance reviews.

Strong communication skills. 
Excellent mathematical, organizational, analytical and planning skills. 
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School or equivalent
3-5 years Meat Operations
