Transportation Routing Analyst

SUMMARY

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. The Transportation Routing Analyst will facilitate the efficient and timely delivery of store orders through the use of Prospero software package to generate the best possible delivery route solution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Routing of store orders in the most efficient way possible meeting order processing time commitments
• Adhere to established procedures, protocols, and store delivery schedule
• Creation and distribution of reports including completion of internal logs necessary to the operation of the department
• Collection and evaluation of store orders downloaded throughout the day
• Manually transfer cross-dock orders into routing system. 
• Analysis of daily and/or weekly routing solutions to point out possible efficiency gains
• Resolve store issues pertaining to transportation/store delivery
• Accommodate special store requests as needed 
• Set-up and maintenance of “skeleton” route groups in Prosper routing package
• Notification via phone or e-mail of completed routing files so warehouse operations can meet departure times for on-time store arrival
• Required to fill in for other Admin (clerical) personnel from time to time 
• Required to work on other projects/reports associated within the transportation department
• Develop decision making skills (during weekend/night shift) necessary to support the stores
• Assist in archiving of route and order information
• All other duties as assigned 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years of age 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
• Possess basic computer skills
• Possess strong communication skills
• High School Diploma or GED 
• 1 year experience in a similar position
